Confirming Customer Identity
When handling a personal effects shipment case from London, UK, to Hangzhou, China, the first step was to engage in detailed communication with the customer.
Through this process, we confirmed that the customer was a Chinese national who needed to return to China due to a job transfer. They wished to transport personal belongings accumulated during their stay in London to their home in Hangzhou.Additionally, we provided the customer with important information on how to obtain duty-free allowances for unaccompanied baggage as a long-term traveler, ensuring they were aware of the relevant tax benefits available upon their return. This initial identity verification and information-sharing phase was a critical part of the international relocation process, laying the foundation for subsequent logistics arrangements.
Confirming Goods Information
After verifying the customer's identity, we carefully reviewed the detailed inventory of their goods.
Our primary task was to ensure that all items complied with international shipping regulations. Therefore, we preemptively removed items from the customer's list that could not be shipped, such as pressurized containers like hairspray and shaving foam. Additionally, we reasonably controlled the quantity of personal items, especially high-attention goods like alcohol and powdered milk, ensuring their quantities were within permissible limits and coordinating with the customer accordingly.
Next, we focused on preparing packing materials and developing a packaging plan. Based on the characteristics and quantity of the customer's items, we assessed the required packing materials and selected appropriate packaging methods to achieve both efficient and secure packing. Our team employed professional packing techniques to ensure that each item was fully protected during the long-distance journey, guaranteeing safe arrival at the destination.
This phase of work not only involved the physical handling of items but also included a thorough review of the inventory and compliance confirmation, ensuring a smooth transportation process and avoiding unnecessary issues during customs clearance.
Determining the Logistics Plan
We designed a personalized logistics plan based on the customer's return schedule to achieve synchronized arrival of the customer and their goods. Through ongoing communication, we confirmed the customer's return date and their expected arrival time for the goods. Accordingly, we booked flights and arranged shipments to ensure a seamless process.
Post-Arrival Declaration and Delivery
Upon the goods' arrival in Shanghai, we promptly executed the prearranged plan, assisting the customer in quickly completing identity verification and declaration to ensure timely customs clearance. After clearance, our team immediately arranged the final leg of transportation, ensuring the safe delivery of the goods to the customer's home in Hangzhou. The customer expressed appreciation for the smooth process and recognized our professionalism as an international relocation service provider.
